RIP Paula Lutz

8 years ago when I found out I was pregnant with Leo I found a chat room with women who were all expecting August 2002. We shared our excitement and talked for 9 months about our pregnancy. We shared sleepless nights and our frustrations with breast feeding, first teeth, first steps, first boo boos, potty training, temper tantrums, sippy cups, first day of preschool, first day of kindergarten, and most recently first day of grade 2. We've been together and debated things from when to turn the car seat, when to potty train, to co sleep or not to co sleep, to cloth diaper or not, to work at home or to go to daycare. We've broadened our talk to things beyond our children and we've been through several divorces, deaths of our parents, several children seriously ill or with debilitating diseases and we've been friends through it all. there have been some tough drag down fights too - mostly political or religious. We come from all over the US and Canada and South Africa and Australia. I've met 5 of them in real life and my kids have played with their kids. Today we lost our first member to breast cancer. She was the same age as I am. I can't imagine Leo losing his mother and it breaks my heart that Bradley and Brittney have lost theirs. Please say a special prayer for Paula's family. She was gone so quickly and had a horrible fight these past few months. Let this be a reminder to be faithful with your yearly mammogram and monthly breast exams.
